As the Founder and Managing Director of Carriage House Studios, Rick oversees operations and collaborates with Dawn to ensure an exceptional client experience. Besides his role as Managing Director, Rick Banda is also a photographer at Carriage House Studios with over 25 years of professional experience in photography, design, and visual storytelling.
Rick is more than just a photographer—he is a storyteller passionate about capturing humanity with honesty, elegance, and depth. His work combines fine art and documentary photography, merging classic composition with cinematic lighting to produce portraits that are both timeless and intimate.
Drawing on his background as an educator and mentor, Rick guides the Carriage House Studios team with a philosophy grounded in empathy, collaboration, and craft. He believes that art should endure—that every portrait, album, and design piece should tell a story worth preserving.
Under his leadership, Carriage House Studios has evolved into a creative cooperative that blends photography, design, and printmaking into a single seamless, luxurious experience. Rick manages creative development, studio operations, and client relationships, ensuring every project reflects the studio’s core vision:
“Portraits with Purpose. Stories with Soul. Art for Generations.”
When he’s not behind the camera or teaching, Rick continues to develop his own fine art and documentary projects—exploring themes of identity, resilience, and human connection across cities in the Midwest and beyond.
